CLOWN CHAOS!

An intensive Clown Workshop for people with previous experience in clowning.

Improvising on stage, street or Hospital; creating a show or a short number; or even singing a song or reading a poem, clowns create universes. And, in order to create these universes, we might use objects, things, costumes, music, accessories and a –sometimes very- long etcetera.

 

Many times, we choose the things we need to materialize our ideas. But other times, it is the things we choose just because, without knowing "what for", or those that come to us by chance, that help us to discover what we are doing, or the ideas we have in mind. We can approach what we do in different ways. This time, the aim is that it is the materials that inspire actions and ideas to work on later, rather than the other way around.

  

PROPOSAL
The proposal of this workshop is to investigate different objects, accessories, costumes, materials, music, chosen by each clown or by myself. In order to be inspired and guided by these things, using and combining them in different ways, to find some nice material to save in our "clown luggage" and use it whenever we want, or to work on later into a short number or the sort of performance we prefer. 

GOALS

To deepen and develop the elements of the clown technique, with special emphasis on:

.The use of various objects and materials as a tool of clownish expression and as the main point of inspiration.

.The ability to recognize which sources of inspiration are most fertile and enjoyable for each one of us to explore.

.The practice of writing down or drawing the sequences of actions, emotions, or ideas that arise from an improvisation with inspiring elements.

,The skill of offering an outside eye to a partner and putting into words some feedback that helps her/him build their own material.

.As always: the complicity with the audience, and the contact with our own emotions.

.The development of play/imagination.

.The translation of impulses into actions.

 
WORKING ELEMENTS

.Comfortable clothes.

.Red clown's nose (with elastic, or easy to put on and off –ot glued-).

.Extra costumes and clothes to share.

.Objects, materials and inspirational things (once registered, participants will receive an explanatory text about the rest of the things needed for the workshop).

.Notebook/notizbuch and pen/pencil.
