Hello clowns and clown-curious (including all Närr*innen, fools, payases, buffoons, Schelme, silly people, and more)!
This August, we invite you to the CLOWNVENTION in the Zirkushalle Dornbirn: a one-week gathering of clowns in a beautiful small town in Austria, near the Swiss and German borders. It’s a perfect landscape—with time and space—for clowns from all over to meet, play, and exchange.
The Clownvention is a space for sharing skills and practices between the participants, instead of a workshop led by a teacher. The week will include self-organized labs, clown jams, a clown lounge, flea market, library, indoor and outdoor shows, cabaret, open stage, symposium, silly dance party, and a clown parade. Why this idea?
Because we’re curious. We believe in building bridges between the many small clown “islands,” strengthening networks, and inspiring one another to create and perform. We want to co-create a space based on horizontality, cooperation, and dialogue—where we can explore what clowning means to us and to the world today.
This might be the week where you meet the love of your clown life, the director you’ve been searching for, the company you’ve been dreaming of joining or creating, or the answer to the burning clown question that’s currently eating you up. Join us, play with us, and help make this gathering a place where new friendships, wild ideas, and unforgettable clown moments can unfold!

¡Hola, payasxs y curiosxs del mundo del clown (incluidxs todxs lxs bufonxs, fools, tontxs y demás)!
Este agosto, lxs invitamos a la CLOWNVENTION en el Zirkushalle Dornbirn: una reunión de payasxs de una semana de duración en una preciosa y pequeña ciudad de Austria, cerca de las fronteras con Suiza y Alemania. Un paisaje perfecto, con tiempo y espacio, para que payasxs de todas partes se reúnan, se conozcan, interactúen e intercambien ideas.
La Clownvention es un espacio para compartir habilidades y prácticas entre lxs participantes, en lugar de un taller o varios talleres dirigidos por maestrxs. La semana incluirá: Laboratorios autoorganizados, Clown Jam Sessions, un Living/Lounge de payasxs, un mercadillo/feria de pulgas, una biblioteca, espectáculos en interiores y al aire libre, un Cabaret, un Open Stage, un Simposio, una Silly-Dance-Party y un desfile de payasxs. ¿Por qué esta idea?
Porque somos curiosxs. Creemos en la importancia de tender puentes entre las muchas pequeñas «islas» de payasxs que existen por ahí, fortalecer las redes, e inspirarnos mutuamente para crear y actuar. Queremos co-crear un espacio basado en la horizontalidad, la cooperación y el diálogo, donde podamos explorar lo que significa el Clown para nosotrxs y para el mundo actual.
Esta podría ser la semana en la que conozcas al amor de tu vida payasa, al/la directorx que has estado buscando, a la compañía a la que has soñado con unirte/que siempre quisiste crear, o la respuesta a la pregunta candente sobre el Clown que te está desvelando actualmente. ¡Uníte a nosotrxs, jugá con nosotrxs y ayudanos a hacer de este encuentro un lugar donde puedan surgir nuevas amistades, ideas locas y momentos inolvidables!
